This digital platform provides an opportunity for children aged 8-11 to learn remotely about healthy eating habits, physical activity, and sustainability through this fun and animated educational platform (e-learning).
This digital education platform can be used in both the school setting (under the supervision of the teachers) and/or from home under the supervision of parent. In either case, the digitized modules include activities to be performed with the parents or caregivers at home.
The e-learning is inspired from the Nestlé for Healthier Kids / Ajyal Salima school program. You can find out more about Ajyal Salima in the “About Us” section.
The e-learning platform includes animated lessons, digital games, activities, and quizzes.
REGISTRATION
Registration to the e-curriculum can be done through the school or, independently, through parents or children.
Registration through the school:
Parents must register their kids and enter a School Code in the assigned registration’s field. The kids’ names will be provided in the registration fields for a personalized experience.
Same applies for children registering with their own account.
A School Code will be communicated to the parents or chilrenby the schoolteacher or administration, to be entered into the [School Code] field.
When enrolled through a school, the teachers will have access to a dashboard to monitor the progress of their students.
Teacher’s dashboard
- Number of students registered
- Pictures uploaded by students
- Names of students who haven’t completed pre and post questionnaires
- Names of students who haven’t started the e-curriculum
- Leaderboard: Display top students (name and school) according to their scores
- In-class material (posters, pamphlets, booklets) to be downloaded and used in-class for optional in-class implementation.
Independent registration:
Parents or caregivers must register 1 or more kids to the e-learning platform using the credential and information of the parents.
Children can also register independently to the e-learning platform using their credential and information.
In the event of registering without the involvement of the school, parents or children can register without inserting the school code in the relevant field.
LOG IN
1. Once registered, parents or children will be able to log in to the child’s dashboard using the credentials previously created (email of parent/children and password).
Children’s dashboard:
- The modules section: Displays all modules including lessons, games and activities
- Nutrition modules
- Sustainability modules
- Parent’s section: Tips and information for parents
- Leaderboard: Display top children (nickname) according to their scores
- Food Log: to input food daily food consumption for an educational end
2. Once the kids are logged in, they must start with a questionnaire prior to accessing the modules. The questionnaire needs to be filled by children, without the help of the parents or caregivers.
Its sole purpose is to measure knowledge and behavior change before and after the completion of the e-learning.
The information is anonymous and confidential. It will be used by Nestlé and affiliated 3rd party for the evaluation of the e-learning. Names of the children are anonymous and won’t be published or visible to anyone.
3. Once the questionnaire is completed, the kids will have to complete all the steps of each module for the next module to be unlocked:
- Watch the animated lesson
- Play the game
- Perform the activity with the help of one of the parents or caregivers
- Upon completion of all modules, children must complete the final questionnaire and receive a personalized downloadable certificate.
The modules are intended to be conducted by the children, with some activities to be prepared with their parents or caregivers. This icon will be displayed when an activity needs to be performed with the parents’ help.
